Dear Saint Xavier Community,

Today and always we want to reiterate that Saint Xavier University's first priority is emphasizing the care and well-being of each of our students. This reflects our Catholic, Mercy values, which respect the dignity and worth of each person.

As you may know, there are reports in circulation regarding an allegation of sexual misconduct involving University students and the results of our investigation of the reported incident. Saint Xavier University does not tolerate sexual misconduct, or assaults of any kind, which violate our Student Code of Conduct, state and federal law, and the mission of our University.

一道本不卡免费高清When a sexual misconduct report is filed, it is taken very seriously and handled with care and compassion by talented and dedicated professionals trained for these specific situations. They ensure all reports follow federal law, Title IX procedures and best practices at institutions of higher education. Our protocols were developed from the recommendations and guidelines of the Association of Title IX Administrators.

一道本不卡免费高清At SXU, we thoroughly investigate all allegations before making any determination. Those leading these efforts do not isolate the individuals involved, but rather conduct a complete investigation in accordance with national standards of Title IX. Throughout the process, SXU provides and encourages counseling and health services for those who have felt impacted. Federal privacy laws, and our respect for the health, well-being and dignity of those involved, prohibit the University from commenting on specific situations.

Let me assure you a great deal is being done. I am impressed with the team of experienced and well-trained staff of compassionate leaders we have in place. We have also reached out to additional experts for assistance and guidance.

Our Title IX staff makes reporting incidents as easy as possible and conducts thorough investigations, offering options and support for all involved parties. SXU also coordinates resources encompassing areas such as Public Safety, the Office of Student Affairs, the University Counseling Center, advocates and medical personnel.

When no clear evidence of sexual misconduct is available, the case does not proceed. Even after an investigation has been concluded without a recommendation for further action, the process always remains open to considering additional relevant information.

As members of the SXU community, we pledge to behave in accordance with our core values of respect, compassion, dignity and integrity. Our SXU students are expected to adhere to a Code of Conduct that prioritizes respect for one another. This includes refraining from the following unacceptable behaviors:

  • Hazing, harassment, racist behavior, defamation, retaliation, obscene language or actions, coercion, threats, endangering the safety of others, physical or psychological abuse or intimidation, and stalking behavior, either in person or through electronic means.
  • Inappropriate, disruptive or disrespectful behaviors that evidence poor adjustment to the community.

We encourage all survivors or witnesses to report any allegations of sexual misconduct. In the process, we respect the privacy of participants in any such investigation, both to honor legal requirements and because protecting the dignity of individuals is central to our mission.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual misconduct, we urge you to call 911 or Saint Xavier University Public Safety for immediate emergency response and official notification to the University at 773-298-3911.

Additionally, we invite our SXU students to participate in one of our upcoming open discussions designed to educate, encourage and empower students to partner with us to help build a healthier culture of empathy and respect. These sessions will be held as follows:
