College of Arts and Sciences Awards
Periodically, the biology faculty selects a graduating student to receive the Botanical Society of America Award. The recipient of this award is a student who has excelled in academics as a botany major, demonstrated a passion for botany, and shows promise of continued pursuit of knowledge. The faculty look at ways in which the student has utilized knowledge of botany in service to the department and community as factors in selecting the recipient.

In 1995, the Cancer Federation selected Saint Xavier University as a recipient of the Cancer Federation Award to be awarded in perpetuity. Each year one or more biology students are selected by the faculty to receive the award. The monetary component of the award is credited to the student's tuition. In addition, the student receives a medallion which bears the image of a microscope and the student's name is added to a plaque in the S wing.

In selecting the recipients, the faculty consider a variety of student characteristics and interests. Among those are dedication to continued education, interest in scholarship/research and financial need. Because the award involves a tuition reduction, it is awarded before the student's senior year.

一道本不卡免费高清The Sister Margaret Grant, C.S.J. Memorial Award is a monetary award presented to a graduating senior who has been accepted by a medical or law school, and who has demonstrated superior academic achievement and significant interactional skills in the classroom, extracurricular activities, civic involvement or employment.
Sister Margaret Grant was a member of the Saint Xavier Science faculty from 1969 to 1975. Following her service at Saint Xavier, Sister Margaret attended law school and served her order in that capacity.
The Sister Margaret Grant, C.S.J. Memorial Award was established through contributions from James A. Klein, M.D., L.L.D., an alumnus of Saint Xavier University.
Because many of the criteria for the award are the very criteria used by professional schools to select the students they admit, there are several worthy students each year at Saint Xavier. Therefore, in recent years, the award has been bestowed on the first student of a graduating class to be admitted to a professional school. In addition to a monetary award, the recipient's name is added to a plaque on the second floor of the S wing.

Each spring semester, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs co-sponsor the Excellence in Writing Awards. This recognition intends to foster high-level competence in written communication by Saint Xavier University students.
All students, including graduate and part-time, are eligible to submit papers in two categories: Academic Writing (including documented research papers, literature reviews, case studies and analysis of a literary text or work of art) and Creative Writing (including personal narratives or other creative non-fiction, fiction or poetry). Undergraduate and graduate awards are given in each category.
Each fall, an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois is awarded the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award and thereby becomes a Student Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. In the spirit of Lincoln, Student Laureates are honored for their leadership and service in the pursuit of the betterment of humanity and for overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities. Laureate nominations are reviewed by a committee of Saint Xavier faculty, staff and students, and a recipient is typically selected by mid-October. Student Laureate Medallions are presented annually in late October or early November at an award ceremony in the Hall of Representatives of the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois. Saint Xavier's Student Laureate is also honored at the annual University Awards day in April.
